The Rose Bowl is considered the “Granddaddy” of all bowl games, with the first match up in 1902 between Stanford and Midwestern Michigan. Over the years, the game has excited fans, featuring 17 Heisman winners, producing 29 national champions and honoring 110 college legends by inducting them in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.
The 101st Rose Bowl Game, scheduled for Thursday, January 1st, 2015 at 1:30PM, will be a College Football Playoff Semifinal Game. Many consider this the best of the playoff games, as it hosts Florida State (#2), led by Jameis Winston versus Oregon (#3), led by Marcus Mariota. In terms of talent alone, the Rose Bowl game will be what every fan is waiting for, as last year’s and this year’s Heisman Trophy winners go head to head. Both quarterbacks are backed by great teams with impressive receivers like Bryon Marshall and Rashad Greene and running backs Dalvin Cook and Royce Freeman.
The Christmas floats will meander through 14 miles of the harbor, providing great views from restaurants, yacht clubs, public beaches and private residences. For over one hundred years, The Christmas Boat Parade has enchanted young and old and is a truly magical holiday tradition.
